The rather expected (in the US and Europe, it’s already out in Japan) Xbox 360’s Japanese roleplaying game Blue Dragon is getting something of a treat as a post-launch downloadable goodie. They are adding random dungeons to the game. While this may of course be entirely worthless, the potential to change a run of the mill JRPG into a Rogue-esque experience is there.
I would love to see more of this kind of downloadable content. It seems like a given that any development company would think of a bunch of things they just couldn’t cram into the retail release of their game, but which could be refined and released later online. With Xbox Live Arcade, the Playstation network and Wii’s Channels, they can also charge for the extras!
