THQ is the first publisher to declare that it’s changing strategy with the new generation of videogames. Multiplatform releases has been the de facto approach of the past generation (spearheded by EA), so I think this is a major shift.
This must be a good thing to all concerned, supposing that the publishers can make their budgets cover it all.
The Nintendo Wii must be the reason this idea is even thrown around, but if THQ is actually going to make different games for the Xbox 360 and the Playstation 3, I’d say that’s a profound change of course for the industry. Well, supposing that others would follow suit.
Interesting nonetheless and a great way to grab some attention in the industry media.
